Not one to stand aside while there was work to be done, he pulled his mop suit out of his pack and got to work.
The soot would've been easy enough to deal with, but the sludgy fire suppressant was resilient. It was sticky and stained anything absorbent a bluish black... He would have to see how long the stains lasted, maybe he'd found a new dye.
He had to take frequent breaks to wring out his suit and start again. There was a plethora of industrial cleaners around, but Pipka didn't know enough about the substance covering the hangar to know how it would react. He could assume it was non-reactive since it was made to put out fires, but the wrong assumption could lead to dire consequences. You only made that mistake once.
Despite the difficulty and monotony of the task at hand, Pipka worked on in good cheer. His armor under the mop suit was keeping him warm and he felt a great deal of satisfaction knowing his efforts would help others.
This wasn't even the worse mess he'd had to clean up. Back in his time as a slave, he had been called on to deal with lots of... undesirable messes. The types of messes the other slaves couldn't stomach.
