[Day 8 - LM] We are so Zakuul

The ortolan have called once more, though this time the message is a simple digital repeating SOS. Upon arrival the squad finds much of the village on fire with unknown white-sliver droids picking through the ruins and the ortolan corralled to one side while a massive walker continues to pummel the power station with intense firepower.

A single human woman in silver-gold armor paces next to the ortolan as the Zakuul walker does the work.

OOC: The Walker is at Long range and is Adversary 2, the Zakuul Knight is Adversary 3 with defense 2, and the droids are minions broken up into four groups of five. The walker is Silhouette 2 with defense 1.

The Zakuul Knight and droids are Medium. The village is on fire with lots of smoke and heat, this adds a setback to all rolls if not abated.

Open to four players. Please roll initiative in your post.

The green light from her saber cut through the snow and smoke, heralding the arrival of a defender. "Our enemy will not show us mercy," she remarked regretfully, having heard that bit from the meeting the previous night. "Nor did they show any mercy to the Ortolans."

Her saber was raised in a defensive guard, standing ready with the others. "We fight together."

Zayne was holding is shield and lightsaber in his hands, but he did not ignite his yellow blade yet. But, as an executioner, he was lightning fast on the draw. He nodding to Kay and the others. "Yes, we are."

Pipka finishes parking the Rabbit and hurries out to the battlefield behind the others, "You guys didn't wait for me, I had to get my ge... oh that's a big boy right there."
He slings his Flechette Launcher and pulls out Ole' Betsy, loading in six missiles with menacing goat faces painted on the warheads.

The Zakuul Knight was quick and rushed forward leaping from the ground to the roof toop and then dropped down behind cover igniting her double blade yellow saber. Meanwhile the droids move with precision, taking cover and firing on the group with precision.

The group is soon put on the backfoot by the hale of blaster fire.

OOC: Zakuul Knight moves to Short with free maneuver from Triumph. Zakuul Knight uses incidental to ignite double blade lightsaber, action to Activate Sense, 2 upgrades if attacked for first two attacks, maneuver to take cover.

Droids #1 take cover and attack Pipka. Hit for 13 wounds, Free advantage negates threat Triumph to Critical Injury. Droids #2 move to cover fire on Zayne, hit for 11 wounds and using 2 advantage to give him a setback on his next action and Triumph to Critical Injury. Droids #3 move to cover and fire on Jedi Kat and hit for 11 wounds.

Having just arrived with the group, Pipka was taken by surprise as the droids rushed forward and opened fire on the group. Princess Katarzyna graciously reflects away some of the bolts, but others strike Pipka, knocking him to the ground.

Taking advantage of his position, he brings Ole' Betsy to bear on the Walker attacking the power station and let's off a missile with Gertrude's angry scowl painted on it.

The walker shifts under the blast and then turned and steadied itself and fired rocket propelled grenades at their location, the pilot taking careful aim. He was a master at his work, so he never hurried his craft.

The blow was mighty but there seems to be little if any actual damage done to the frame.

OOC: Walker takes 4 damage it turns Uses True Aim as a Maneuver and shoots at Pipka, hits for 12 wounds and activates Blast with Triumph, for 12 wounds to the group. Player turn, will flip Destiny if Zakuul Knight or Walker are attacked. Superior grants +1 advantage so enough to activate Blast.

Pain flashed through her slender form. Yes, it was good, she could use that Luci thought, even as she drew a stim and applied it to herself. And then, gritting her teeth and reaching out, Luci found... peace. Serenity. Ugh, it must be all these Jedi!

"I HATE IT!" Luci screamed, clenching her fists so tightly her nails dug into her flesh. And then, thrusting her hand out, she found the power, focusing it on the walker...

"Ooooohohohoho!" Luci laughed as she tore it's gun from its frame. "Just like an ant! An ant!" Still laughing, she gestured, flinging the mangled piece of weaponry into the droids.

The droids are crushed , but three find cover behind the wreckage and return fire with pinpoint accuracy. But she is unscathed but they blast out the ground sending her tumbling down into a maintenance shaft the pipes and what not break her fall but she is dumped on her butt several meters down.

OOC: Two of the droids are destroyed in group #4, 3 remain and one has taken 2 wounds. Missed Lucinia, they have cover and using Two triumph to knock Lucinia into a deep maintenance shaft. So let's say Short to get back up. She is prone.

Kat's lightsaber moved in a flurry as the attacks came towards them, defending herself and Pipka as she worried for him to be able to ward off all this damage. Besides, they would need him to provide those big booms.

A lull in the assault came, and her lightsaber slowed for a moment. She extended her hand in a focusing gesture, and hot air billowed into the air as she centered herself with a long exhalation. The hand came down, deftly unsheathing a stim from a pouch in her belt and applying it to herself.

"Stand down, Knight," she spoke to the armored woman wielding the lightsaber. "And leave these people be."

Zayne lit his lightsaber a a fraction of a second before the shot hit him. He deflected it partially. He pulled a stim, and stuck himself. He decided the best move was to get into melee range with the Knight and use them for cover. Then he would look to start destroying droids. Though, that was expecting the Knight to not be cannon fodder.

He moved in on the knight and stick ay them. It dealt no damage, but he was where I wanting to be in the fight.

The Zakuul Knight easily parries the strike, reducing any chance for harm, and spins their weapon over their back as their blades clash. Once she has his measure she knees him in the gut and then spins with kick as her weapon tries to find purchase, but he is too swift so she sweeps him off his feet disarms him and catches his lightsaber with her free hand.

She shouts to her allies, “For Valkorian!”

OOC: 3 Strain to Parry, reduce damage done which is 7 by 7, none taken. Missed but 7 advantage total, 3 to knock Zayne prone, 3 to disarm him, and Triumph to catch his Lightsaber in her free hand.

Grants a boost to next ally. NPC turns but I need to know current health and status of the PCs so they can act accordingly.

The Zakuul droids focus their fire on Pipka, they are deadly accurate and pepper the area with blaster bolts removing any chance for him to defend himself and then destroying his armor in the process!

The next set lose sight of the fallen Sith, so they focus on Katarzyna and find some purchase through her defenses, one even destroying her sacred weapon.

OOC: Minions #1 take aim and fire at Pipka, they still have cover and hit for 12 wounds, and remove his Defense due to equipment with 3 advantage, 1 from Superior. Second group hits Pipka for 15 wounds and 0 threat due to Superior, player choice, two triumph used to destroy his armor.

Kataryzna is struck for 14 wounds, they get 4 threat for player use, but two Triumph to destroy her Lightsaber, crystal is salvageable.

Her weapon continued to move in its defensive maneuvers, even when she saw a split second before it happened that it meant the loss of her saber. If they survived this, it would be a small price to pay, but it seemed that the outlooks were looking dim.

With the last swing, her weapon reflected the incoming blaster bolts over to the same group that Lucinia had attacked, and then her saber's casing was no more. Only the green crystal remained.

Incidental (not taking a PC slot): Reflect damage to reduce by 5. Utilizing 3 of the Threats for Improved Reflect, directing 14 damage to the wounded Minion group (that Lucinia attacked earlier). Using remaining Threat to inflict 1 Strain on the group that attacked her.

Pipka curled into a ball on the ground as the might Sith next to him ripped away the guns from the walker and flung it into the droids. He was about to get up and cheer her, but she suddenly disappeared into a salvo of blaster fire and a deep pit... deja vu, he needed to talk to the Ortolans about safer working conditions around their facilities.

Thinking the enemy's attack was over, Pipka lifted his head and prepared the Missile Tube to fire again, only to be peppered with more fire from the droids. The shots fractured his armor and riddled his body, leaving him limp and incapacitated in the snow.

Her well aim blast removed those droids from existence!

Zayne jumped up on his feet and started running to the maintenance shaft. He took a pot shot towards the droids once he was in the shaft. He missed, but gave Kat a little cover to get Pipka into the hole.

The droids take careful aim and fire at the Jedi, they are accurate and restrain her movements as they harry her from cover.

OOC: Droids aim and hit for 11 wounds on Kataryzna with 2 advantages from Superior, giving Kat a setback on her next action. PC turn.

Seeing the Chadra-fan go down, Kat assesses the situation quickly. Lucinia was out of sight, and that felt like the right call to follow behind her and Zayne. Hopefully lives could still be saved.

Picking up Pipka, Kat hoisted him over her shoulder in a fireman-carry and moved over to where she had seen Lucinia disappear. She was leaving behind her crystal, but saving Pipka's life was more important than any material value.

While Lucinia's senses were not always as strong as others, she was always connected to Jan, her awareness of her lover never quite fading. It was through this that Luci could feel her pain. Feel her life fading. Luci went pale, her eyes closing. "Jan..." She whispered, a tear running down her pale cheek.

When her eyes opened a moment later, they were black.

"I'll kill them!" She screamed, a wracking, piercing sound, tearing at the ears of her companions. Wind began to whip around her, a swirling mass of debris and dark side energy, crackling with her rage. She lifted her arms aloft, bending the Force to her will. If Jan were merely wounded, this would give them something to draw their attention. And if she were dead, well, this would serve as a suitable pyre.

Up above, metal ripped and tore, screeching in protest as it yielded to the force of the power she commanded. The power station, a contrast to the raging Lucinia, still screaming, moved almost gracefully, a moment of silence as it levitated to the center of the battlefield.

And then, Lucinia thrust her fist downward, and the power station plunged to the earth...

The Zakuul Knight, turned and raised a field of Force and was blasted from the site... but if there is no body....

OOC: Poor ortolans are uhh... gone, and they were all two weeks from retirement even the children, and the Knight is gone.... Destiny Flip.
