Hoth: Blood and Ice

It really was a change. It was like a dark fog hanging over her had dissipated, letting the light shine through.

She wasn't sure if she had ever felt so light and confident as she reached out to the Force with a gentle touch.

What had she heard before? What was going on?

Legacy means so may things as they try to tap into the Force they just get images of their respective children, not in any set order. Possible futures, possible failures, and successes; moments that separate child from adult; when they strike out their own, when they fall and must rely on themselves without your aid.

In some cases they take up the mantle of what you may have left behind some deny and go their own way… but the ocean is infinite in size.

If you stay too long you will drown in the possibilities.

And so we must focus our minds to narrow the legacies available…

Sylvain tried to strain his mind not on his own legacy… or that of Luth… but to the legacy of the Dragon… and how that entwined with theirs…

Luth focused elsewhere. Sylvain had seen her taken control of by the Dragon. Was it possible?

I heard that there was a check… If not please ignore.

Something is occluding or perhaps obfuscating the truth, the legacy of the Dragon simply draws them back to three stars, one o the right is dark, the one on the left is light and the one above is many brilliant colors, it is larger than the other two but also seems unstable, shifting and warping, and they form a triad over a singular throne.

Shyyyo can tell whatever is blinding them is something at work in the Force, almost intelligent maybe.

They can go no further for now.

Sylvain opened his eyes and looked at Luth.

"Something obscures our vision... Or someone..."

"Yeah... I wondered why I only heard a voice," she sighed in annoyance. "Though honestly, seeing those stars again, I can probably make some educated guesses about it."

"What are you thinking?" He asked.

"Three powerful lights above the throne might be those twins everyonewas discussing, plus one more that's... it's either chaotic, insane, or in flux and has the potential to become anything. Or some combination. I'm not sure which, yet," she said, stretching her legs out. "The stars people have been seeing are his Legacy. They're the ones that could destroy everything. Or maybe become powerful vessels if he returns. I'm guessing that's part of it, with your vision."

She tapped her heels on the floor. "That's just a guess, like I said, but it might be in the right region."

Sylvain nodded contemplatively, "If now there are three of them... This is getting out of hand."

He clasped his own thighs tightly as he sat on top of his knees, "Whatever it is... We will need to prepare. All these people in this place at this time is no coincidence... I just hope it is not a ploy that has taken us away from where we could have been more helpful..."

She smiled at him. "We will prepare. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, and beyond what we can do... Worrying won't get us very far."

Sylvain smiled and nodded in return before standing and extending a hand to help her stand, "You really have grown quite a bit... Lordship and Motherhood look good on you."

She took his hand and stood with him, shaking her head. "Motherhood more than lordship. The latter..." She shifted uncomfortably. "... Here, I'm surrounded by people lightyears away from where I am with the Force, or in life. It doesn't feel right. I'm nothing. Just a bit player in the grand drama playing out over the galaxy."

"You are no impostor Luth... You stand toe to toe with all of them." He looked intently into her eyes.

"Don't you forget that."

"I know... maybe I know, but... Can I?" she asked, shaking her head. "What am I right now, if not just in another form of slavery? Exactly where I was born."

"You are far from where you started... But you will always carry those things. We are a sum of all our choices and none." He replied.

"The galaxy changes... and you are well-fit to ride those changes to wherever you feel compelled to go. The ability is there... now all that lies before you is the execution."

He paused for a moment, "In the end... it's the results that show us who we are..."

She met his eyes with a small smile. "Thank you... You've always supported me, even in the worst times. You and everyone else are okay, so... it hasn't all been nothing..."

He nodded, "That shows who you are better than any combination of words can..."

He gently wrapped an arm around her waist, "The road that you took... with all its perils and turmoil... Was to get you here and now."

She reached up and brushed his hair back,letting her fingers rest gently on the back of his neck. "Syl... if you ever need it, let me support you, as well. Don't try to shoulder everything."

He nodded and smiled, "I'm taking a break from shouldering the whole galaxy... Shyyyo shoulders what he is meant to shoulder... Not any more or less."

He smirked warmly, "I have never been much of a hero... But I can play a part."

"Good. You need a break. Not that all this is too much of one." She stroked his skin where her hands rested. "You're hero enough in my mind. All anyone can do is their best. And you really have."

Sylvain gently leaned his face towards the touch and closed his eyes for a moment... breathing in the peace and reassurance it offered.

After a few moments of silence he lifted his hand up to embrace hers and bring it down to his chest level.

"We'll just have to see if this time my best is good enough to see the results we want..."

She pressed her palm gently over his heart, lookinginto his eyes. "What you're doing will have mattered, success or not."

He smiled and nodded his head quietly.
