Hoth: Blood and Ice

A woman waited by a speeder in the middle of the wastes, bundled up and ready to get this show on the proverbial hyperlane. A droid was working on a setup by the speeder some of kind downward facing high energy laser drill.

She checked her chrono, hopefully they would not keep her waiting.

The unremarkable thrum of a speeder truck approached at constant speed, slowing down only when getting in sight.

Armored clothes under her overalls, the cloaked togruta approached, hands on her weapon beneath her vestments

"Yeah?"

Omandri had commandeered a tauntaun and went out to the coordinates that he had been given. He wore a greatcoat over his armored jacket and a high quality Thermal cloak with hood to fend off the worst of the cold.

He gave the togruta a quizzical look as he dismounted and tied the tauntaun to something nearby. He was apparently unarmed but had a pack and a large shield on his back as he approached the group "Well this is a surprise."

“I called in an option, Duke Rist,” a woman said as she emerged from the speeder wearing a dark blue bodysuit. She continued, “I guess I forgot to mention that, but we might need her expertise and if word on holonet serves, she’s been chasing my target for years.”

“Go ahead,” she directed to the droid who fired up the laser to melt the ice.

She spoke to Baesal, “Valen Gries, SIS; I know my message was unorthodox but I was deep cover here on Hoth, yeah I got the short end of the stick. I was working with Duke Rist on a target we have code named Hydra, saw your name come up. Figured having a Jedi on our side would be worthwhile.”

“Either way, I brought some extra suits in case you are not prepared for some swimming.”

Baesal's face was unmoving, she might as well been a statue carved out of the ice

ISI? Heard from the Holonet? Interesting...

''So we are going in an underground waterway? My vehicle is fully submersible and hoth proofed.''

(Sense on the two?)

“Really, well that makes this even easier, master Zyn,” she said.

OOC: Roll the check, Discipline plus Force die versus 3eC+1eD+2eS which is the higher of the two.

''I like being prepared.'' she eyed them both in turn ''And on that topic what are the details of the operation?''

“Break into a facility used by an alias of Hydra and get data on her operations here. It will not be designed for organics, ahem, people like us. Probably fully submerged or vacuum sealed. Automated defenses. But between an agent of House of Rist and your technical skills we should have this covered,” she offered.

OOC: Any idea for those Advantages?

"I see..." She frowned, looking at the melting Ice "Won't she be alerted when we breach the compound? Also: what is this facility's function?"

OOC: They are well trained to protect against the Force you can’t get a read on either of them. Well unless Omandri is not protecting his mind.

Omandri frowned slightly but kept some thoughts to himself for now. "So a vacuum sealed facility, interesting." His eyes also narrowed on her odd choice of words but he again kept that suspicion to himself.

He didn't know Baesal overly well but from the read he'd gotten on her so far she seemed trustworthy. As trustworthy as people are at least.

OOC: if he can determine the source he would let Baes in, if he can't be certain he would keep his walls up.

“Well let’s not waste time, I can load up some equipment and we can get on with this. Master Baesal Zyn, this is Duke Rist, and vice versa, let’s go catch us some bad guys,” the droid grabs some gear from her speeder and moves it to Baesal’s vehicle.

“My intel suggests this place will be vacuum sealed or submerged, either way, expect hostile conditions.”

Playing along she gives a long nod to Omandri ''Your lordship'' then she returns her attention to the blue woman

''I can seal my armor but I don't have a rebreather, I suppose you have one spare for his lordship and I?''

The droid provided them a rebreather.

''All abord then.'' she made for her truck ''Anyone here a good pilot in case we have to skedaddle?''

Omandri shook his head taking his own rebreather out of one of his pockets "I will need a wet suit though. I didn't bring one with me to Hoth. And to think I was actually excited for a little ice fishing." He said with a grin as he boarded the truck.

She provided the requested gear and then heading down takes about twenty minutes before they arrive at a structure under freezing water atatched to the bottom of the glacier.

Omandri observed the structure with a critical eye "So what's the plan here? How are we supposed to infiltrate this thing? Surely someone going through such pains to leave a place hidden wouldn't make the location the only deterrent."

"I have a device that should help with our ingress," she offered.

''Let's observe this thing first'' she reoriented the headlights towards the structure, trying to get a good sense of it's size and manufacture.

The facility was perhaps a kilometer in length and tube like about twenty five meters in diameter. No distinguishing marks on the outside.

''Interesting'' She eyes it up further ''What is the device you brought?'' she asked the 'agent'
