Sold into "contracted indenturehood" at an early age, Jub'lub became the property of Waldo Mampi, a grave keeper. Jub'lub's brother and three sisters were also sold into slavery. He hasn't seen any of them since he stood on the auction block. Being relatively strong for a young boy, Jub'lub was tasked with digging graves on a remote world. Waldo was reluctant to feed Jub'lub well, and told him if he wants to eat, there are plenty of worms in the dirt. Fortunatly, Waldo was right, and Jub'lub had no shortage of worms and maggots to scrounge. While bountiful, the worms always left Jub'lub hungry and weak. His grave digging was hindered and fed up with his lacking perfomance, Waldo put Jub'lub back on the slave block. By the light, a jedi was present that day and sensed a suprising force sensitivity within Jub'lub, and thus bought him his freedom. The jedi, a Kyuzo man, offered to train the young boy and Jub'lub couldn't refuse.

After becoming a Jedi in his own right, Jub'lub spent much of his time mentoring the younglings and spouting words of wisdom through use of proverbs. He lived a mostly peaceful life at a Jedi Temple, waking early to fish and meditate in the morning and train with the younglings afterwards. Jub'lub was what you might call a traveling master, spending time at many different temples. He met Breela Po on Tython after her events on Alderaan and offered to help her find her family. She had a lead, it was more than Jub'lub could say about his own family, and he knew the pain of separation well. Jub'lub trusts the force and rides it like the storm; he feels a calling to Hoth beyond just Breela's needs. He hopes he can help the effort here on Hoth and as always is looking forward to trying new delicacies.

Together, they travel to Hoth, chasing Breela's lead.

Hooks:

Child Slave.
Loves a good meal, maybe a little too much.
Loyal through and through, especially to the jedi.

Name: Darth Bellious
Alter Egos: Many
Gender: Female
Faction: Imperial, Sith
Species: Twi'lek (Lethan)
Background: Criminal (Smuggler)
Marital Status: Single
Age: Early 30s
Height: 5'8"
Build: Slender, Curvaceous
Complexion: Carmine

Bellious is and isn't a mystery. She infrequently removes her armour that obscures her features, but there is a suggestion of feminine shapeliness
in her movement. Some Korriban graduates could recognise one of their peers in her, Moyr Ahaya, once an audacious and provocative apprentice. She used to be known as the Red Wraith when she headed a group of Mandalorians, but this was before the rise of the Empress. If she has had any other identities, they are not widely known... to be hers.

The last decade she's spent in mysterious whereabouts, only rarely coming to the forefront of galactic affairs. She hadn't been a credit-seeker even before becoming a Darth. Whatever she's been doing it hasn't been too publicised, with one notable exception: the revolt she fomented on Dantooine was a stratagem that paved the way for the Sacking of Coruscant.

Beyond that, wherever she'd been allegedly spotted political trouble was about to commence - unrest, strikes, riots, coups, uprisings, even planetary-scale rebellions and revolutions. Not always successful, but always leaving a chaotic aftermath through which old powers had crumbled and new were emerging. Chaos on many more worlds than Dantooine can be probably assigned to her portfolio, but she's been leaving few outright signatures.

She couldn't be found on either Dromund Kaas or Ziost, having made her seat somewhere else in the galaxy.

As far as good looks are concerned, the Lethan, a rare carmine colouration, can be a cardiovascular arrest hazard to relevant audiences. If she's taken a measure of, it can be noticed that her lekku are slightly paler than the rest of her complexion, and the colour of her eyes has been shifting from molten gold to chromatic bronze, a sign of immersion in the Dark Side. For social calls, she chooses elegant if skimpy black tape-dresses and henna tattoos.

She used to exude a seductive demeanour even though the ostensibly mellow timbre of a chanteuse and sensual body language often belied and confused her truer image. Even if a proclivity to flirt and tease is still a part of her, but it doesn't come up as often unless her mental glove allows her to channel it back. As a Sith, she's more businesslike, violent, vicious and ruthless, and does not suffer fools gladly. But it may be yet another ruse that protects her truer nature.

Character-wise, early into her life as a Sith she was openly manifesting an anarchistic, radical spirit, subversive and seditious, disrespectful of laws and regulations, spurning restrictions and bans, unrepentant in pursuing her ambitions and passions. She had little tolerance for racial chauvinism or xenophobia, and abhorred slavery. Her mindset was the direct opposite of a demure, pliant Twi'lek 'entertainer' even if the realisation of it may only come in painful hindsight for those who initially assume too much.

As a Sith Lord, she has built on her mental proclivities and has embraced the letter of the Sith Code wholeheartedly, finding the radical freedom it promises to be worth striving for. But her views on manumission and emancipation have... nuanced. Only those who have the brains and the guts to fight for their freedom are worthy of gaining it. The pliant rest shares in culpability for their debasement. With her dedication to the Code, it is non-coincidental that her lightsabre bears the name Passion. And just like her twin-blade, her passions are concealed from most eyes and it's hard to see them coming. And yet, she's not known for a vivid romantic life, having no known partners, even intermittently.

Hooks (PM if anything catches your eye):
  • If you have served Darth Zash, we could have been enemies. If you have opposed her, we might have been allies. Does it matter still?
  • Do you enjoy a special relationship with the Empress-Regent? You may not be the only one.
  • Do you abhor stagnation, like to see the old world burn and descend into chaos, enjoy democratising fear, or it just fits your line of business, private or corporate? We may have things in common and may have worked before.
  • If you are a xeno willing to work for the Empire in order to shake things up, you may have been contacted by a secret organisation... I know something about.
  • Have you heard of DIXIT? Such a funny name for an organisation. That it means 'an initiate' in a language of old is probably irrelevant... You likely know more if you work with or for the Ministry of Intelligence.
  • If you've been in any rebellion in the galaxy over the past decade, you can appreciate or blame me for how it turned out, but I can't possibly comment. Or can I?
  • Do you have something to do with the Chiss Ascendancy? We may have common allies.
  • If you have ever been drawn back to the Blood God, we could have made a rendezvous there.
  • If you work with or for Imperial Intelligence or have had any ties to Darth Jadus, we may have things in common.
  • If you have ties to the Mandalorians, you may be holding an old grudge.
  • If you have ever been involved in discovering the truth about the Immortal Emperor, we may have things to discuss.
  • If you think Sith ethos should return to its spiritual roots, are inspired by great transformative ambitions of Naga Sadow or Exar Kun, we may find each other looking eye to eye.
  • Are you no stranger to the mystical turn among the Sith? The lore of the ancient magi doesn't attract you alone.
  • If you have sufficiently long record in arms smuggling reaching back almost two decades, we may have known each other in another life.

Darth Bellious is sometimes accompanied by a withdrawn bluish woman who apparently acts as her personal secretary or assistant. The communicate in quite whispers. Those who are insiders of the Imperial Intelligence, Chiss, or both, might know more. She uses the name Razzya.

Name: Jo'ren Rath
Age: 29
Sex: Male
Species: True Sith
Background: Heir to a Sith Bloodline
Height: 191 cm / 6' 3" in his bare feet
Weight: Hard to tell between the muscles and the armour
Hair: Dark with a hint of reddish brown; shoulder-length
Eyes: Golden
Build: Massively powerful
Face ridges: Spiked, with two sharp points jutting downwards
Distinguishing features: All of them.

Background
Descended from a long line of Sith warriors and seekers, beginning with the Jedaii Ranger Sek’nos Rath during the height of the Infinite Empire, Jo'ren follows his own path. Graduating from that class at the Korriban Academy 13 years ago he served as Darth Vengean’s apprentice for many years and still remains on good terms with the old man. His connection to the original Massassi has also deepened over time and he continues to visit Yavin IV and develop the newest generation of Sith-trained Massassi warriors.

After conspiring against and finally helping to kill the Immortal Emperor in the turmoil on Ziost, Lord Rath became a trusted member of the new Empress' inner circle. The priestly class have been less taken with this occurrence but some suspect that the Empress likes to have a weapon around who is indifferent to the usual Sith politicking. Various titles have been given to him, though true to form he seems to care little for them most of the time.

Lord Rath's proudest achievement was the sacking of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, which he led from the front under the expert planning of Darth Marr. It was truly sweet revenge for his people and a great many Jedi fell beneath his blade, including the Grand Master of the Order, Resmi Thun.

As he leaves his 20's behind and completes his Mastery of Niman, Jo’ren’s attention returns to his legacy. His special projects continue to provide surprising boons and prolonged exposure to the Star Forge has granted him some rather unusual powers. Now he travels to Hoth, but for what purpose? Ask and he might tell you it's the Will of the Force, but given his recent experiences, if that is actually true then it leaves the Blade of the Empress with some uncomfortable questions...

Hooks:
  • Did I kill your Friend/Padawan/Master/Grand Master? Bad luck. Will of the Force I guess.
  • Interested in the old ways? Think Sith should carve their own path? Me too.
  • Force secrets, ancient artifacts, mysterious ruins? Count me in.
  • There is always something more to learn. Come train with me.
True Sith • Colossal • Nobody's Fool • Rath of the Empress • Big Damn Hero • Humble • Saviour of the Galaxy

Stuff: Armour of the First Wrath, Universal door openers, Thermal cloak.

Tethys Carrack
Age: mid-thirties, 34 or so
Species: Human
Gender ID: Female
Height: 178cm/5'10"
Build: Spare
Complexion: Cool-toned, on the dark end of typical Human range
Hair: Black, in locs
Eyes: Dark brown

Appearance:
Tall, willowy, and quite dark-skinned, Tethys Carrack doesn't stand out much among a cosmopolitan crowd of mixed species, but she does cut a distinctive figure relative to most standard Humans. Her thick black hair is worn in neat dreadlocks, usually looped back off her shoulders or tied into a chignon. Deep-set brown eyes watch the comings and goings of her fellow-beings with an expression of detached interest that ranges from quizzical to solicitous to downright skeptical. Her voice is a cool, light alto, with a hint of a nonstandard accent in Basic.

Tethys favors practical boots and long, loose, comfortable robes in the mode common to Jedi and other galactic wanderers--preferably with pockets, more rarely draped over Jedi-styled armor. She’s often surrounded by a faint scent reminiscent of sea air, tolerable or even pleasant to most Humans (other species' olfactory preferences might differ), though she doesn’t wear any other obvious cosmetics.

To those who knew her on Bankor, she's changed relatively little over the past decade: one or two silver hairs twisted into a loc here and there, a slightly sharper, smoother angle to the planes of her cheek and jaw, dark eyes perhaps just a little bit deeper set, but that's all. It's almost as if she were appearing in episodes set ten years apart but with a shorter actual gap between film shoots. Or maybe it's good skincare.

Further public data:
Jedi Carrack had most of her early training on Coruscant and spent her time as a Padawan wandering the Rim with her master. She advanced to full Jedi status shortly before joining the Republic mission to free the planet Bankor from Mandalorian warlords. Tethys saved numerous lives (and took others) during the Bankor campaign, but hasn't emphasized her wartime accomplishments much, taking more satisfaction from her postwar work helping the citizens of Bankor re-form their government and cleanse the planet of Dark Side influence.

In the years since, she has divided her time between checking in on Bankor's progress, and wandering the other worlds of the Outer and Inner Rim finding troubled waters to calm. The outbreak of new hostilities with the Sith Empire five or six years ago found her on Dantooine in the midst of the murky colonist rebellion, which kept her away from Coruscant during the Sith invasion. Refugees and displaced people have often been the focus of her missions, and this trip to Hoth is no exception.

Tethys's first Padawan, Byron Mik, is now a Knight in his own right, although the two have continued to work together at times. Her new apprentice, Glade, is a young Ithorian padawan. The two were to meet the refugee transport Baraliner near Hoth and help smooth things out as the refugees settled into their new homes--a typical task for Tethys over the past few years, and a good opportunity to introduce the gentle Ithorian girl-child to Jedi consular fieldwork. However, when the transport went missing, Tethys made the snap decision to send Glade back to stay with her friends the Organas on Alderaan while Tethys herself joined the Republic investigatory force. She has a feeling this may not be a good first mission for a very young and green apprentice.

Tethys has no living Human family that she knows of, but she still keeps in loose touch with her adoptive kin, who are from a small fishing settlement on the planet Dac (better known as Mon Cala to offworlders).

Hooks:
  • Much Jedi. Wow.
  • Tethys has been all over the Republic and neutral worlds of the Outer Rim. Maybe you have common acquaintances or familiar places—or once gave her and/or her Padawan a lift?
  • Well regarded by democracy advocates on Bankor; that reputation might have spread.
  • Surprisingly erudite, though she doesn’t always show it off.
  • Member of the Sith War Orphans Club. Unfortunately, we’re still recruiting new members...
  • Did you also grow up on an ocean world or near the sea? Care to share some kelp tea and dried fish candy? It’s hard to find other non-Calamarian beings who appreciate these simple pleasures.

Name: Soren Haicen
Age: 26
Species: Human
Background: Local Militia (Military)
Faction: Green Aka Neutral Aka Unaligned
Gender: Male
Height: 185cm
Build: Athletic, Works for a living
Hair: Black
Eyes: Pale Grey
Homeworld: Dantooine
Occupation: Mercenary

Description: Soren is tall with an athletic build made by longer hours working. Even before he joined the planetary militia on Dantooine he had spent long hours working on his parent's farm. The type of work that built lean muscle on the teenager which he retained into his adulthood. Handsome after a fashion, his features are a bit too sharp for many to find truly attractive, and sadly he wasn't gifted with the ability to grow a decent beard. A closer inspection can show that he's seen his fair share of hardships. He carries an assortment of scars from some of the battles he's been in, not all of which were properly cared for. Though he is seldom out of his armor and as such those are hard for most to see.

Soren has had something of a rough and tumble life after leaving Dantooine, having worked as a Mercenary and Bounty Hunter for much of the last eight years. A good portion of which was spent on Nar Shaddaa, and he even found himself in the employee of the Hutts for some time. Fortunes change though and sometimes it's best to seek new vistas and new faces and much of the last three years the Merc has spent wandering the Outer Rim. Finding work on Border planets and industrial worlds to help pay the bills.

Hooks:
- Need a gun for some violence? We can discuss prices.
- Spent a lot of time around scum and villainy? Well, me too!
- Do you too hail from a boring planet of the edge of nothing? Maybe we can drink the memories away together.
