Sir, you left out a homemade card that folds out into wide arms that says "I miss you....this....much." and then on the back is a tiny reticle that says below it, "but next time I won't."

Hypothetically speaking.

I feel that a gift card for a pitiful sum at something they don't want is juuuuust condescending enough while still being technically polite.
