Hoth: Blood and Ice

Navigating through the storm had not been easy, but the tauntauns had an instinct for traveling through such weather. Now on the Frozen Sea, however, everything was clear.

"We should be in the right area." Galen explained. "I came across tracks out here a few days ago, but didn't have time to follow them. I think it's some sort of hog. If we can bring a few back, it will give everyone a few good meals."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"Anything that's survived out here this long is gonna have some tough or thick skin" Aphr commented as she followed after her brother "got some traps ready or do we need to kill it the old fashioned way?"

[Breela Po]

"I'll follow your lead," Breela says bringing up the rear. "A pig picking might be just what the doctor ordered to restore base morale."

White Maw pirates are harrying the hunting party using the snow and blizzard for cover.

OOC: Increase difficulty by one and setback due to pirates being jerks. So now Daunting, 4eD+1eS for the difficulty.

Galen had stopped to study the fresh snow, finding impressions that hadn't fully been covered.

"I don't think we'll have the time for the snares, nor while avoiding the pirates. " he shook his head. "We'll need to be quick. I have the trail, be on the lookout ."

Aphr nodded. She tried to look ahead, and spotted something...it would really help the people back at base, they looked huge.

"There they are. We have to get them quickly, and preferably quietly. Be careful, though, they could charge you."

[Breela Po]

Breela spurs her tauntaun into action and circles around the long way. "I've got an idea," she says into her comm, "it's kinda crazy but should be fun." At last she has the herd between the others and herself. That's when she spurs the Tauntaun into gear, "Get ready!"

The charge surprises the animals that actually turn toward you guys in retreat. Breela gets along side one of the beasts. Then in a feat of daring and athleticism she stands up in the saddle, jumps off and nails it with a flying kick. The powered boots discharge upon contact, stunning the beast into submission.

As the hogs ran towards them, Galen repositioned himself, lining up one perfect shot, while dangling precariously from the back of the tauntaun. Another of the creatures fell, while a third was wounded.

"That was fun." She says picking up the big lug, "Nice shot by the way." She ties it to the back of her tauntaun. "I cannot wait to see what the chef comes up with tonight!"

"Thanks. You had a good plan." he grinned.

He quickly finished the wounded one with a knife and tied it and the other one up for the trip back.

[Aphr Ahaya]

"That was certainly much easier than an Ackley" Aphr commented with a chuckle as she got close, climbing donw then moving over to help "and it's a big one too!"

[Galen Panteer]

"They'll last a while, even with so many at the base now." he nodded. "Thank you both for coming."

[Breela Po]

"Always a pleasure to hunt with you." She grins. "Both of you."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"And you too" Aphr said with a nod as she helped to wrap up anything while Galen cut the meat up "Galen and I used to do these kinda things a long time ago. Well, I wasn't very good at the hunting part...I've always had a good sense though. Should have seen when Galen would trap big game, that was amazing."
