Hoth: Blood and Ice

Sylvain was pleased to find in this reality that the steam vents had already been discovered and the turbo lift was functioning well enough to reach them…

The warm water would feel so much more refreshing and natural than Kolto for his skin… and the man still needed time to think on his current predicament.


The darkness was no obstacle for him… He had been in darker spaces for much longer… He removed his armor and slid into one of the pools to ease his blistered extremities.

It's warm and lots of critters are attracted to his heat, so besides the soothing water lots of bugs and others things that slither around or on him.

Sylvain remained calm in the water as he soaked and encouraged the other forms of life to do so as well… To peacefully coexist for the time being.

Using only the two light pips to ease all the critters’ minds.

They are very chill.

Remmington explores some more of the recently opened parts of the base when he comes upon an odd scene. "Oh hey. Didn't think anyone was down here." A moment of silence.

"How's the water?"

"Refreshing." Sylvain replied in a word.

"Remmington... long time..."

Remmington nods. "It certainly has been a while. I hope things have been well for you."

“Well is a state of mind in most cases.” He replied.

“You? I’m surprised you never took advantage of your relationship with the Empress… Afraid she’d kill her own father?”

Remmington waves that off. "Nah, if she really was set to destroy me there is almost nothing I can do about it. I am more than busy enough trying to rebuild my House and support the Farro and Empress. Besides..."

He smiles, almost gushing. "Why would I ever be afraid my little girl?"

"What kind of father would I believe if I merely rode on the coattails of my daughter's success?"

“A very common one.” He replied without much thought.

He thought of telling him the futures where his daughter had mercilessly killed him on a whim… but that would only sour the positive vibes he was experiencing in the pool with the critters.

“How has Hoth treated you then?”

"Thankfully not too bad but I've mainly been busy restoring the functions of the base. Saved a bunch of slaves yesterday." Remmington recalls.

"What about yourself?"

“So that was you then?” He asked, eyes closed yet perceiving the world around him.

"Well I just helped." Remmington replies.

"Where have you been?" He asks.

“Out.” He replied.

“Out chasing visions…”

"Is that what that weird feeling was a while ago?" Remmington asks.

“Yes… the impending doom of the galaxy caused many of us a bit of indigestion it seems.” He replied.

"So did you figure out something on your vision quest?" He asks.

“Everything and nothing.” He replied.

“Auspicious is it not?”

"So things are still in flux and haven't been determined yet?" Remmington asks to confirm.

“Things are never determined Remmington… Even after they happen.” He replied.

“But impending doom… well yes that is determined.”

"Yeah, I had that once. Met my future self." Remmington comments.

"Any idea how soon this doom is coming?" He asks.

“Immediately.” He replied.

"Not giving us a chance to rest huh?" He says a bit exacerbated. "Any other clues in those visions of yours?"

“Many. Beware of squirrels on rainy days. The Hutts are still fat, but not as fat as they imagine. Don’t bow to Dragons. Eat your vegetables.” He replied.

"That's sort of all over the place huh." Remmington comments. "Maybe you should go talk with C5."
