The general broke in, “I have had our engineers review zhis data and whatever interface is needed, is proprietary tech by whatever species or intelligence built zhis fleet. Our asset seems to believe zhat Zakuul did not make zhis, zhey simply acquired it. It predates zheir Empire, if I recall my conversation with Senya.”

“We have brilliant engineers but it may not be just a feat of engineering, we may need a sample of zhis technology.”

"Perhaps an expedition, general?" Kat suggested. "While the majority of the base will rendezvous at Boz Pity, a scouting group could launch out to find where this technology came from? I imagine the Gree would also be eager to learn more about it?"

"I tend to agree. Retrieving Valen is also a possibility. Assuming she's still on the planet."

"Given her expertise, she's a valuable asset, we'll make sure to give her secure transport," the General responded. "I like zhe idea of an expedition, but I can't speak for the Republic."

"Of course it may require going into Zakuul space, which could be a suicide mission."

"I want to review this data more with our own specialists before I am willing to commit any Republic assets, no offense Master Jedi, but the Senate would need to be assured first," she admitted.

"How long will that take Senator? How long do we have?" Galen asked.

"To be honest, I assumed that would be the case. That's why I was proposing going myself. I have experience with infiltrating behind enemy lines, which... would still be close to a suicide mission, but there's a better chance of success with experience. Anyone else... well, they would have to be volunteers, for something like that, I think."

Kat looked to Luth, then to Senya. "Would you be willing to help with a mission to Zakuul, to learn more of the fleet's operations, Senya?"

"Trying to succeed in spite of one another really isn't a viable strategy." Galen agreed. "We have limited information and don't know what resources are still available out there. I understand trust is difficult and I now their are security and vulnerability concerns to consider, but we all have to risk some measure of trust. Regardless of what interests we may represent."

She raised an eyebrow at the mention of traitors and Luth's previous comment.

Attention shifted to the Togruta. "You want us to trust you, spill it. Who's your 'someone' Baesal?"

"Zhen zhe Jedi Master should not speak about Imperial initiatives, our decisions do not require her blessing, remember zhat," she said firmly.

"So don't trust zhe Cunning Man, but trust a colleague of said terrorist, your argument is less zhan compelling."

That's right... Baes called them a victim. Odd logical leap. Luth looked at her curiously, as well.

“Our intelligence had been following an agent operating in Imperial space, zhey were traced to here and apparently disabled by this Valen. A machine intelligence going by the name of HYDRA, is any of zhis incorrect?” she responded.

“You mentioned victim and it matched with zhe report after our own investigation. Of course, I could be wrong and if so zhen you have my apologies.”

Saresh added, "Maybe the Imperials have been in league with the Cunning Man the whole time. It would make sense."

The General brushed off the senator but glared at Luth, "Yes, traitor?"

There were now multiple accusations about traitors and terrorists being thrown around. Jo'ren watched the back and forth slightly nonplussed. How long was I in that kolto tank. What the kriff is going on?

Wisely he kept quiet waiting for more info to be revealed.

She crossed her fingers, scrutinizing the Imperial General

''Interesting bit of intel you got there, General, I wonder how you got it. But yes, she is Hydra and as not been working for the cabal for a moment. We could only disable the Cabal cells who worked in republic space, not Imperial ones...perhaps why Valen want to go there now.''

She eyes Saresh

''No. That is too much of an assumption to make. The Star Cabal is known for their hatred of force users...they may have agents in the Empire but the Empire is certainly not in league with them.''
