Hoth: Blood and Ice

Sylvain Torsin walked towards the Imperial rooms of the Command Center with purpose.

The difference in this reality began setting in more and more… Sylvain himself began to be convinced that perhaps this time was different. And if it were different he would need to act in concordance with the best possible information.

He made himself known and asked for admittance into the presence of Lord Baras…

The General was present overseeing operations.

Sylvain stepped forward and greeted the woman in military fashion.

“General Zholyeva. Sylvain Torsin.”

“Welcome Sylvain Torsin, no longer trying to parade as someone else?” she responded.

“For now.” He replied with a nod.

“You’ve done an exemplary job given the circumstances. There is no better person I could have assigned to this task.” He said without flattery.

“My presence will not interfere with your command in any way. I offer my services in an advisory role only.”

She waved it away and said, "Why reveal yourself now, you were missing for nearly a monzh, and now decide to step out of zhe shadows?"

“I did not wish to draw attention to the mission and my daughter who I brought along…” He replied.

“We are well beyond that mattering now… But with work still to do here and impending danger on the horizon. I need to be myself to help build something that will benefit us all going forward.”

"Zhis sounds like Sizh magic," she said and then added, "Well we have been building a common purpose here all along, with zhe minor issues here and zhere."

“There is an element of mysticism involved, yes. But you have done an excellent job in building trust… and that is precisely what we need more of.” He replied.

“What is our current plan in the days ahead?”

"We may be forced into an offensive posture," she offered.

He nodded, “I can sit in on the coordination meetings if you think I will be of help.”

"I am sure it may lend some weight to our decisions if anyzhing," she offered.

He nodded, “Very well.”

He paused, “Are there other immediate needs that require attention?”

"We have many concerns, feel free to step in and get what you can done," she admitted. "Anywhere you wish to focus your efforts?"

“Power levels seem critically low…” He replied.

“And… somehow we need to affect hearts and minds into cooperation…”

"Zhat is the reason we may have to take to zhe offensive, a rescue mission turned into a mass liberation straining our resources and by all accounts angering the locals," she responded.

“How many people did we bring in?” He asked.

"Nearly two hundred or so, not all presented zhemselves for accurate count, many children though," she responded.

"I'll see what I can do to organize things a bit..." He replied.

"We'll need more resources, however, and that is not easy on this rock."

"Nozhing is easy on Hozh, but we will persevere," she responded.

Sylvain nodded resolutely.

"If you can point me in the direction of information regarding our logistical capacities I can get to work..."

Officers direct him to where he can work.

Sylvain would go about the work of administration as best he could… trying to find another means of grounding him to this reality.

In this one at least there wasn’t so much maddening pain…
