Conditions Are… (D1, MM)

A silent white cloaked figure and an accompanying smaller dark figure found their way into what appeared to be a command center. It was hard to tell at this particular moment that one could command anything from here… But every base had to start somewhere.

The older figure gestured towards the power cords silently with his head and the child made her way to begin examining them….

Meanwhile he turned his gaze to the surrounding room looking for what biggest problems would be needed to be solved first.

OOC: Starting up an opportunity thread here open to anyone really. I’m looking to do the “Base Renewal” option and can do a bunch of the rolls. Someone with Mechanics/Computers might be helpful. But here for the RP, so anyone is welcome (Up to 5 players as is specified in the Rules).

A yellow-gold droid is busying itself around what looked like a command console under all the ice and debris and it turned to the new guests and verbalized in Basic, “Oh, greetings yellow parallel, is everything green bilateral?”

The console was currently active or at least lit up.

Shyyyo turned to the droid as it began to speak and tilted his head to the side.

"Your common translator is a bit off, droid. We are currently appraising the condition of this center. What is your function?"

"I'm not sure what 'Green Bilateral' or 'Red Perpendicular' mean, droid. You appear to be malfunctioning... perhaps you'd allow my assistant to examine you and ensure your systems are functioning properly?" He asked.

"Hello, Syl. Making yourself busy early on, I see." Moyr entered the room in her pursuit of knowing what is where. Wiring the operations centre the Imperial way seemed like a priority, so she moved to get the comm system right by bypassing malfunctions. Lord Mordax had messed up things a bit moving stuff during his early assessment, and Bellious overcame that, but while something was going right, something was also going wrong...

[2 Threat for Setback, Despair for GM discretion. I copied the difficulty from Sylvain minus Master of Shadows. The rules say Hard so I don't know where the upgrades are coming from, but I assumed I just didn't find the relevant information. If the roll is bad I can repeat it.]

She paid little attention to the droid for now.

All power in Command center went out, no lights or even minimal life support. The droid responded, "This is not green bilateral."

OOC: Despair used. All roll difficulty increased by 1.

"No... not green bilateral at all." He said as he looked around the darkened room in consternation.

He then turned to look out into the hallway but stopped by Moyr on his way, "The name is Shyyyo in public. If you please..."

He then found a collection of Baras' aides bumping into each other in the darkened hallway.

"What in the frozen shithole this place is do you think you are doing... Go get an engineer. Now!"

Sylvain returned to the room with a concerned sigh as he came back to the droid.

The visualizers switched to gray ascent, much better.

The droid walked over to the console and verbalized, “This one would like to remind you that this situation could result in red vertical conditions. This would end in white secant for all yellow parallels.”

OOC: Saving that juicy Despair for later.

Sylvain walked over to the console and tried to see what the devil this droid was talking about.

“Nightingale… what is this thing trying to say?”

The girl came over and began examining the console as well.

There is a distress beacon running, two of them, one with Republic signatures and another with Imperial signatures.

They are old codes, but they check out.

The droid responded, “Once there was black tangent in orbit, this unit engaged beacons. Beacons are currently green bilateral.”

“Still without power this situation is red vertical.”

Something in orbit... We had no one down here when we came out of hyperspace... A trap?

Sylvain began scanning the room for signs of some sort of trap or terrible calamity about to befall them...

So... Using 1 Light Side for 1 Success, and then 6 for 6 advantage. Makes 8 advantage. I'll use two of that for a bonus to the next person and then the remaining 6 to... reveal something helpful to us if that is alright.

And I think I'll be done for rolls this thread. We need one success in three tries.

He finds a power conduit that can be bypassed to get power back online in this room. With some switches the lights turn back on.

Sylvain's rebuke and the power outage she'd apparently caused by tinkering with the comms unnerved her. She had a droid but it was a quiet one, so she didn't really know how to deal with those. But she knew how to deal with people. So she decided to convince some surviving Imperial personnel to do the menial work and checking cable connections leading from the centre, especially that they were hanging out of igloo walls relatively freely. But the convincing was suffused with dark persuasion, and would involve Razzya overseeing the effort...

Maintenance sort of done, Moyr focused on finding some information the prior users of the base might have left behind. Perhaps one of the workers had found something in the process of cable-checking?

Working via commandeered labour seemed like the best thing to do now, so Darth Bellious focused on making sure the spontaneous collaboration would go as smoothly as possible. There were just too many cables for one person to check.
