"I would expect you to fight even when you can't win," Vaylin said with a shrug.

Vaylin said, "It seems like a good strategy if you intend to fight them."

"I am not following your logic," she responded. "Why do I care if you can make an ion weapon?"

Vaylin spoke for herself from the shadowed entrance, "No, I am a princess of the Empire, my safety will always be first and foremost."

"In the long run the children will be better off," she added watching them go.

"I owe no allegiance to anyone, but I see no reason to intervene either. It's not my concern," she admitted.

"I will not intervene in my brothers' campaign, it's not my concern," she admitted.

"Most savages do not realize enlightenment until they experience it," she said calmly. "If your people simply submit, then bloodshed can be avoided."
